Laura Frost

This yard was out of control, covered with English Ivy and Hypericum, and a dead Willow Tree.  We transformed it into an accessible low maintenance yard that accentuates the architecture of house, adding a concrete walkway and trees for shade.  We also added new stairs to the front door, making new porch large and welcoming.

There used to be a step down from the family room and we changed the grade by pouring new concrete over existing, saving from dumping more debris in landfill, and making the patio at the same level as the floor in the house.  The garden attracts hummingbirds and butterflies while still low maintenance and drought tolerant.

This kitchen became beautiful and functional with custom cabinets, doorways relocated, and new flooring and arched, leaded glass window.  The Calacuta Marble was used for countertops and tile backsplash.  There are no plugs in the backsplash, as they are tucked under the upper cabinets, keeping it clean and beautiful.  The cabinets are moss green with an antique glaze.

The entire back yard was taken down to dirt. All new irrigation, drainage, patios, walkways, stone bench, stone fountain, lawn, plants, low voltage lighting, overhead structure, pool plaster, tile, stone, waterfall and equipment are brand new. Plants are low maintenance and drought tolerant.

This site has a 30' slope up, in the backyard, so we took advantage of the elevations to create a dramatic water feature with water fall, a portable spa tucked into the hill, and retaining walls that provide seating.  We also used stone slabs for steps from the main patio, which added to the natural look of the stone retaining walls.  Above the waterfall, we created the illusion that the water come from above the property, but, in reality it only recirculate on the lower part and the creek above is 'dry'.  This is a low maintenance, drought tolerant design.

The existing kitchen was too small for the three cooks in the house, so the design included taking out walls and moving some things around to create a much more functional floor plan.  We also added a walk-in linen closet with a false back wall that opens up for safe storage.

New Master Bathroom

Master Bathroom designed to feel spa-like with vein cut travertine in flesh tones on the walls and floor.  Planks were used on the floor to create more grout for less slippage.  The mirror wall was done in a linear glass/stone, and the counter/backsplash has an engineered stone slab to match the porcelain vessel sink.  The towel warmer next to the Toto toilet will have towels dried between evening and morning showers.  The custom vanity was custom built with Maple stained dark to match the solid maple doors, and cappuccino maples floors in the bedroom.  The shower has a channel drain under the frameless glass enclosure door, which adds to the clean lines of the stone tile.

These clients extended the roof to cover the patio next to the house, added pool, sap, pool house, outdoor kitchen, fireplace, water feature in the raised vegetable garden, grape trellis covered porch looking out to kids play area.  We redesigned the front yard, by adding court yard to match exterior of house.  We brought in several containers as the perfect accents.
